When I read this, The poet William Blake sprung to mind, because he has entire collection of poetry that talks about children's innocence and how it must not be abused or stripped away from them quickly because it will ruin their entire lives even after they grow up. He considered it as such a sin to interfere in a child's innocence as the below few lines from his poem "Auguries of Innocence" show:

He who mocks the Infant's Faith
Shall be mock'd in Age & Death.
He who shall teach the Child to Doubt
The rotting Grave shall ne'er get out.

If only shaking a child's innocent faith and mind deserves rotting in graves, then what does abusing them physically and emotionally for sexual pleasure deserve ???
