i neither work for cbq nor defend its' new charges. So, that reason doesn't stand any merit. It was only a discussion which seemed to be counter-acting against your comments.
the freedom to choose an account is luckily still available for us and i don't think that cbq is such a great bank to merit such a long discussion. Personally speaking, i haven't been to these banks in ages other than use the atm machines. And i have friends who have accounts in both the banks. Moreover, I consider both banks to be more or less the same..
Haven't you heard of the swiss banks who have a long list of criteria to open an account with them.. I only meant a similar scenario that is being seen in cbq. "if you meet the minimum criteria, you are welcome". Not defending cbq. Given the choice, I would open elsewhere but account opening formalities are getting to be too tiresome that once you open an account, you just leave it at that and hope everything works fine.
oops..
