I guess contra conception is different issue. Preventing an egg to be fertilized is an individual's choice. But to cease the development of the one already fertilized (fetus) is another issue. Though it still depends on individual's choice; which could be on the degree of spirituality as well as morality.
I bet this issue will turn into circle since we have different levels of beliefs.
Eye for an eye, despite of current modernization and technology advancement in the world, better education, etc.. etc, crime is still a crime whether it happens during the premordial or during the modern times. Life untimely taken, possession stolen, rape, still there is a victim... punishment.. death for life taken, stealing and rape... life imprisonment(goodness hard to be in the judicial)
But come to thing about raping a rapist? I think better jail forever, slowly punished him with severe boredom.
