Dear I work in a bank & I see a lot of people facing similar issues what I suggest is to still the amount whatever it cost him as most of the banks is having a collection agencies outside of Doha & they are allowed to tack legal actions to collect the amounts.
Don’t be afraid banks will start looking for the customer only after 3 months of non payment, at that time he should be having another job even if it is out of Doha he still can transfer the amount as TT to the bank.
Second suggestion he can call the same bank which he took the CC from & look for the collection Dept. Tell them about his case & ask them for a suggested pay back plane.
Third suggestion he may call the bank call centre & inquire if his card is covered by insurance in case of lost of employment
