I agree with those that mentioned problems for non-whites to get in. A month or so ago, a Brit and I got there early and our Indonesian boss, (there are many Garvey's members from our company), was to meet up with us later.

The guard wouldn't let him in. Even after I went to the front, the guard told me outright that the club is for europeans. I had to go to one of the Garvey's for permission.

My boss was so pissed, he just left. I didn't blame him at all.

It's a great place to go for a cheap meal, a beer and a feeling of ye ole colonial rule. Blacks in the back door, whites in the front.
