Me too, but any way, the Static electricity is not enough to hurt you at all, but its very annoying. I'm not absolutely sure but I've came to a conclusion that its two side process:

1. For you: Probably created by friction between the shoes you are wearing and the car floor or mat. What happens is you build up a static charge in your body and when you touch something it allows the static to flow to earth and you feel a mild shock.

2. For the Car: the static buildup may be the wind on the outside of the car, The wind as you're driving creates a static electric charge on the car body. The faster you're driving the larger the static charge can be on the car.

And accordingly, both meets +ve and -ve and do this to u :)

Here r some precautions that u can consider if u r really suffering:

1. touch your car with your shoulder when you get out. the static has to discharge through your clothes and the shock is less effective.
2. Spray Static Guard on your clothes and you will not be so "electric" anymore.
3. if you see ur self full of static electricity, try going for natural fibres ... cotton etc and rubber soled shoes/trainers and dont use nylon combs/brushes.
