Thanks for the info, my dad actually had one of the old style, made with scaffolding tubes and steering with the feet. This was in the early 90's but the club seemed to have split by that time as I can recell. (Although I was only young so can't remember exact details.)

Looks like we could have the best wind of the year today so must rush off to catch it and shame you are not still in Qatar.
Will let you know how it goes but I remember the larger ones going faster wit hthe 7m laser sails on them. We are limited to a 4m sail.
