Hello everyone,
Thank you all for your responses.
Special thanks to Remonskya, Mindcrime, Haunted, Voyageress and Thejam for your appropriate responses.
FYI: I have lived overseas and traveled outside the U.S. quite extensively. I have dated women from many cultures and have been married to two foreign nationals in my life. My circle of friends I associate with are from every corner of the world. And I have many friends from the Middle Eastern regions as well: Saudi, Pakistan, Iran, etc... Race means nothing to me. It's all about the person.
Alexa, your response is nothing but disappointing.
Your tone and attitude was uncalled for.
First of all there is nothing wrong with asking questions from a specific nationality, especially your own when seeking advice of this nature.
Who says it is not particulary polite? You? You are intititled to your own personal opinion and I respect that. But maybe you are the one being a little overly sensitive to a simple question. Don't sweat the small stuff my friend because at 66 life is too short to do so.
I am not going to ask a person that has never resided in the U.S. to compare the life between Qatar and the U.S.
As well, Americans are made up of every culture in the world, so it's all transparent to me.
Secondly, if I sent you a personal message without saying "Hello" then I apologize. Sorry but I don't think it was intentionally done to violate your decorum.
If you are referring to the question I posted publicly, then I would have to say there are alot of people who are not being polite as well.
I have received an offer letter to relocate to Qatar and at this stage will look to those of you who have valuable input in helping me shape my perception of what life might be like there.
Good luck and thanks again for your valuable insight.
