Up to you brother, check the reference, ask your Imam. It is Haram and you are responsible. It is not a weak hadith, but you seem to want to justify haram behavior.

Just because it is not in the Quran doesnt make it Hilal, there are many new Fatwa's concerning many issues all the time.
