I am really sorry to hear that it will close. Janet and all that have dedicated time, effort and money to this amazing project, you are an inspiration to so many; and I can't even begin to imagine the sadness a loss you feel at having to select the more 'adoptable' friends you have made there. It is so sad that people continue to purchase animals, breed them without thought or care; instead of adopting. With two rescue dogs of my own from Bahrain, and a third which I am also trying to home, I know how hard it is here to find loving homes.
It makes me sick to the stomach that in spite of the wealth and education in this country, animals here are still viewed (well sadly most humans are too) as accessories and discarded when there is no use for them. It is disgusting, and should be punished as done in 'CIVILISED' countries. I am sick tired of being politically correct. Qatari people should show an ounce of humanity, and maybe they will receive the respect they deserve from the rest of the world.
For those offended by such a statement........I challenge you....prove me wrong. Prove to me that Qatar can change....that all it takes is ONE person that CARES that can make a difference. The people that have dedicated themselves to help these poor animals have shown incredible strength of character and resolution. How many Qatari’s have given their help? So prove me wrong.
Poppy, let me know how I can be of help. You can contact me through my profile.
