I'm currently using IE8 Beta1, I wouldn't recommend using it only because it's still a beta release and bound to have a few bugs. Some web pages (very few) do not render correctly but I'm a beta tester, so I'm fine with it.
You could completely reset the settings and local Application Data for your IE7, and install the IE7Pro addon for extended customization, and it works perfect, no problems what so ever.
There have been times when I've had 5-6 instances of IE7 running with atleast 5-6 tabs each for more than 2 days without a problem. Same with Firefox, it will eat up all your memory (albeit, it's a good browser!)
