Depends whether your question is directed at evening social gatherings, if so then you'll find many people frequent Garvey's, popular with expats from Uk, US, Europe etc

Also depends where you are living, with some places you have natural magnets such as communal swimming pools & such like, heath clubs & gyms.

I've met nice people just out & about shopping!

A lot depends on your own attitude in wanting to make friends.
