Gifts are never offensive..
Just get what you would get your friends and family.. whether it's clothes or shoes.. don't go sentimental and get something of no use.

Hide your money and hold your luggage tight .. most of Egyptian are nice … but when my brother visited they but his bag on the top of the taxi and by the time he got to the hotel… it was gone!!
There is a lot to see in egypt and lots of nice people… but avoid tipping and being over friendly … since those who are into that… never get enough..
In the area's where tourist are ..people are sort of greedy!!
I once asked a guy to take us a picture with my camera… after he was done he asked for money!!!
Again most people are nice… but there are those that ruin it for every one.
