Hey hun,

Any muslim has the right to give away ONLY 1/3 of his wealth in a will to whoever they may choose...

If/when they do that, the other 2/3 is devided between the relatives and close kin in a precalculated way detailed in the quran...

Some poeple simply dont use this right...

Some people use the 1/3 rule to favor 1 child 2 another(usually the female child) or to give to certain people or organisations that they believe deserve the money ( like an adopted child)

Some people "sell" their possestions to one/many of thier children before they die to insure that other children DO NOT get as much ( another sort of favoring a child)...

All of the above ( i believe ) is trying 2 twist the will of God...with the exception of Using the " WILL" 2 give to someone/organisation that deserves it like an adoted child...

If and when we abide by that, then there is nothing for the biological children to quarrel about...

The adopted child gets the cut his parents wanted him 2 have, and the remaing 2/3 is devided between the siblings in the way stipulated by God...

I hope that answers ur question...

Take care and have a gr8 day.
