I know a girl who left a job in Qatar 2 years ago thinking she would come back and get a better job elsewhere. She ended up back in Qatar the end of 2005 under a "business" visa bought from a travel agent. She has had nothing but headaches and crappy jobs since. She has found that all the good jobs are if you are under a husbands sponsorship. She's smart and motivated with a degree.
There's a lot of jobs here that can be found locally but the salary and allowances are crap. She got a lot of promises from small private companies, but once she started the headaches would start with non-payments, changes to job requirements, companies gong bankrupt, withholding her passport, etc. A company just last week offered her a split-shift job with a housing allowance of QR400/month and transport allowance of 300/month! In the meantime she's taken countless trips to Bahrain and Dubai to get her passport stamped.
