Results are in Litres per minute and approx.

At rest (reclining) the Oxygen consumed is 0.24 lpm whilst the actual air breathed would be 7.7 lpm

At rest (standing) O2 consumed 0.38 lpm air breathed 10.4 lpm

Walking slowly; this increases to 0.78 and 18.6

Fast walk; 2.54 and 60.9

Running; O2 consumed 3.0 lpm the actual air breathed may be as high as 100 lpm.

The number of respirations per minute vary from 15 at rest up to 30 with strenuous exercise
