Why do many Muslims insist on saying that Scholars and Imams are the only ones to question?

This gets right back where we started of blindly following the words of another man. These are men deemed by other men to hae knowledge. They got this knowledge by questiong they were not born as the all knowing. Also their opinions, interpretasions and ideas are formed by their culture, beliefs, and experiences. Meaning that any of us can be scholars. However we may not be scholars but at least ask questions and learn.

The notion of this is just absurd to me and not in any religious sense. Stopping aor attempting to stop a discussion based on you not having the "scholar" bestowed upon you by another man.

If this is the case in all things in your life then I am a money "scholar". It is now decreed that you deposit ll your savings and future earnings in my account. As I am a scholar in this subject do not ask questions just do as I have said, as I must be right since I am a scholar.
