Completely agree, there is no social life for people who actually know what a life is out side of Qatar.
The way locals and non locals treat lower paid personnel in country is diabolical (worst one I have seen is a Qatari (yes he was before anyone starts) knock a philipino off his bike, then had the gaul to get out of his car and physically assault the biker).
Attitudes to women here are worse than disgusting (as per my previous comments), there is no voice in this country that would make a difference however.
Having travelled extensively over my life time (spent more time out of the UK than in it so far) I know there is nothing that the government can or will do to combat this, however if they are trying to move in the same circles as Dubai etc with tourism then they are going to be forced to do so.
