What you have been through is terrible and it seems to be quite widespread. I quite understand why you do not want to involve the police but for the sake of other women you should report this.

If these disgusting people think they can get away with this, they will continue to do it. Would your husband go with you to the police? Can you remember what the pervert looked like? Can you describe the circumstances and the location clearly? If you can, I think the police will take you seriously.

This country is proud of its relative safety and I think the authorites will really try and protect women if they are aware of the situation. I am sure that this happens regularly but that many women are scared to report it. Therefore it is not seen as the big problem that it really is.
