I hope you all who showed serious interest for learning Arabic are doing well. I had to wait for a couple to three days to see the feedback. Again, this is for scheduling and planning purposes.
I guess we have gone one significant step forward.
Surely, having more than 4 people per group is not a good idea if I will set up a group, unless under very very exceptional circumstances for just one more person to join but that extra person has to hurry up and give his or her final word since he or she will be part of a group. That is why I will try to have one more posting on the website and I hope it will appear on the webpage front page . . just below this posting on Aljazeera that has been there for days now.
I will send an email to all those who provided their emails. If everything is set, we can have our first meeting as early as this Thursday evening for orientation. Your all feedback is also appreciated.
Having another group is possible, but this will depend on the available people. I have done group tutoring before and I know how of a hassle it can be, but no worries!
For Camilla, you just joined the forum but you did not mention an email of yours if you want to be part of the coordination for setting a group. That was just a note!
From a previous experience . . . it is easy for many people to say that they would learn Arabic and stick themselves with a certain schedule. For whatever reason, it is understandable sometimes; either they got other commitments in life, work, family, or money, travel, more difficult than expected or maybe I did not meet some student's expectations or style or demands . . things happen friends! ...
From the feedbacks I got directly on my email or from the exchange of ideas on this forum . .. I thought of something that maybe fair and objective for all:
To go for 5-6 sessions first so you get a sense of what you are about to get into and also to check whether you will be comfortable with my style, personality and way of tutoring and your learning capabilities and how comfortable you may or may not be.
We will have a blunt style of communication but in a straight forward, honest and charismatic way. When I say 'Inshalla' I meant it sincerely and when I do not meant it sincerely, I prefer not to mis-use such a beautiful word in Arabic like many do, so I use something else. Also, when/if you have a comment or a remark or suggestion or 'constructive' criticism on something, please get it out of your heart. So, lets put it this way!
It is in the evening on Tuesday now. Expect an email within short!
