I have been offered employment by Rasgas. The package is 14k plus housing. Am planning to shift my family (wife and a kid). I want to know if this is a good offer. Whats the cost of living like in Doha and more importantly hows the commute??? Like taxis and getting a license.. Dubai sucks on both these counts
* RG will provide you excellent housing, do NOT ask for allowance & search for a house yourself in this company's case. Coz the flat they'll provide you its rent would be more than your allowance. RG has this policy that their employees should be well taken care of these basic initial things so that they put their full concentration & effort on work.
* Your offer with 14K is very good.
* License is easy if your driving skills are good.
* Dont worry about taxis, lots of private drivers with new cars provide to & fro transportation.
* I think you would be put up for 2 weeks in either Ramada or Intercon & you would be provided with the transportation too later on after two weeks you might be on your own for commutation. Keep checking classifieds / services in this forum where private drivers are available.
Lastly, I am an ex-RG employee, & just to let you know that in Qatar you would be joining a workforce where only the name of this company counts :) Good luck
