I said "to fully understand the Qoran you must have a good command of the Arabic language.......Translations do not do it justice.." - as an answer to the article super7's posted:

"For Gibbon it was an "incoherent rhapsody of fable," for Carlyle an "insupportable stupidity," while here is what the German scholar Salomon Reinach thought: "From the literary point of view, the Koran has little merit. Declamation, repetition, puerility, a lack of logic and coherence strike the unprepared reader at every turn. It is humiliating to the human intellect to think that this mediocre literature has been the subject of innumerable commentaries, and that millions of men are still wasting time absorbing it."
.
I was wondering how any one can critique the qoran when they do not speak the language.... It would be like critiqueing(sp)translated poetry......

Translations give the overall meaning ...like the translated verses Aisha posted......

Everyone is able to understand the fundamental meaning of the qoran.....but only the scholars are able to analayise it.....Even unleaned arabic speakers will find difficulty thats why if you have anyquestions you go to the professionals who have dedicated their lives to research and the understanding of the book...

qatarcat...don't you think that god knows of the time zones...I don't know what they do in canada but we all know there are alot of muslims there...when I meet one I'll ask him!

You totally misunderstood the last part...I was apologising to ferrin for not being able to live up to the challenge...I could not find concrete evidnce that CHRISTIANS WERE BEING KILLED AS A RESULT OF BECOMING A MUSLIM
