Wow - QSF was awesomeness
So, here’s my reality. I like to sit at home and be as lazy as possible - as often as possible. I do not like trying new things - unless it’s food.
Recently, someone at QL asked me to go with them to cover the Qatar Summer Festival’s Entertainment City at DECC (right behind City Centre Mall). This was on a Thursday evening too, mind you, my favorite evening for laziness and watching television in my pj’s.
Anywho, I went to help a friend out, and was quite surprised at the awesomeness on display. I am used to the various play areas and entertainment set-ups offered to children in the city for events. But this was a DEFINITE step up. I saw little children going for a balloon ride, I watched a magic show, and some awesome break-dancers. No joke - I really really enjoyed the break dancers.
I was disappointed I hadn’t had my children in tow. It was an awesome set up, was relatively cheap, and would have been oodles of fun for them. I am going to go back, and I told my friends too, and now I am telling all of you. This isn’t your run of the mill indoor play area, the folks behind QSF outdid themselves to make sure our kiddies didn’t get cabin fever from being indoors due to the heat.
Even the atmosphere had a lot of life at the event. There was tons of parking and the venue wasn’t packed. It was nice to be someplace and not feel crammed.
Mommies and daddies (and even adults who may like watching break dancing but pretend they don’t) go check out while it’s still on, it wraps up at the end of the month and worth a visit.
Enjoy!
