Dhal Al Misfir: Qatar’s cave: Independent trip
A village in Qatar called Rawdat Rashed has one of Qatar’s more renowned caves, Dhal Al Misfir, a 40-meter deep cave. As Rhianna sings, “shine bright like a diamond” diamonds don’t shine, but rather they reflect light. In this cave, barely any light enters, but whatever light that does enter bounces off crystals found in the cave which result to warm glows. These crystals are called “desert roses”. Crystals aren’t the only residents at the cave, you also may find owls.
To drive up there safely, click here where it provides a Google map location.
Extreme Desert Show
If you want to catch something for a short time, you can go watch a 30-minute extreme desert show and catch the sun set.
You can enjoy five hours of cars showing off their skills on the dunes. There are two shows happening this month November 16th and November 30th (this one includes a live BBQ dinner).
Kayaking through mangroves
If you want to get away from the sand a little and attempt to get into the water if it’s not too cold, try kayaking. If you’ve never tried it, kayaking is pretty simple and extremely fun! Book yourself a trip to go kayaking in Qatar by clicking here
You can also volunteer cleaning up the desert or become a leader with Green Mangroves!
Rock climbing
Would you like to try rock climbing? You can tag along with Doha Climbers and go visit the wonderful landscape of Zekreet.
