Tennis - English commentators PLEASE?
I have just watched the whole French Open here in Qatar with non-English speaking commentators. I can stand it for the matches but it really gets on my goat when we get to the presentation ceremony and certain people are still gabbing on and on and on over the top so that you can't hear a damned thing in English - and then, to finally ruin your viewing completely, you cannot hear a word the players are saying because the "translation" is going on over the top of it and so loudly!!!!
Please please please OSN/MOZAIC wake up???? There are 1.7 million people here in Qatar and well over a million people that probably speak English and many of them I bet would like to watch the tennis with English commentators!!!
With Wimbledon just around the corner I hold out NO hope that there will be commentators that we can understand - poor show OSN!!!
So teed off over this.. anyone else feel this way or do you all just grin and bear it??....thank heaven we get the Rugby in English!!
Just sayin'.........
Watching the Ireland match here on ITV!
i remember commentaries in aljazeera sport 2 used to be in english. even the qatar open matches. one day someone had this bright idea of bringing in arabic commentators.
even if i understood arabic, i don't think it would be the same. i got hooked into watching tennis partly because of the witty english commentary. now i'm reduced to pressing the language button on my remote in vain
Elics thanks for your advice but no thanks, I pay for an english commentary and thankfully now have found it...listening to some muppet yelling for commentary, well no thanks! God help us if these clowns get the EPL for the 2013 season...
Guys please learn some arabic....
I'll tell you... these commentators in tennis match are from football field and you may experience same level of pitch in their voice. So dont get surprise, learn some arabic.
Aiwa - thats awesome
gooool - goal :)
Jameel - beautiful
lol
there are two benefits, learning these few arabic words, you may enjoy both tennis and football, its a smart decision by channel owners.
We learn your language, please learn some arabic
Whats the story with the Euros, watching the Dutch v Danes, 3 chanels showing the games and not one chanel in English, just that horrible arabic yelling at the game. Unbelievable this stupid company can't sort their shite out to get an English commentary going
really blows
just wait for Grass Court Classic...
I agree, I watch the european football and comments are only in araboic, horrible.
I called starlink for info, after 5 calls the lady picked up the phone with a message call al jazeerah as I do not now how to help you. Then the friendly person from the call center at al jazeerah guy explained me what to do but eventually it did not work either. I seem to have problem that never occurred in mankind so far. So now I listen to internet radio from home and watch the game on TV, haha....
I watch the tennis live on ITV and Channel 4. Watched the open match of Euro 2012 on BBC yesterday too.
You think that's bad? try watching the European Championships with Arabic commentary where the guy feels to need to describe and elaborate on every movement :O(
