Sven’s mystery Qatari bosses?

Sven-Goran Eriksson has joined ‘Notts County’, the oldest professional football team in the world, as the director of football. The move is very surprising. What is more surprising is that the club’s owners are yet to reveal themselves. Grapevine has it that the owners are from Qatar. The romance is certainly there… Qatari owners for the world’s oldest professional football club… I wonder why they are not revealing themselves? Maybe they are planning for a grand entrance…

This clipping is from the BBC site. They are asking the same question which I have been asking too. I’ve only copied the parts pertaining to Qatar. You can read the full article, written by Simon Austin at http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/simonaustin/2009/07/svens_mystery_bosses.html

From the BBC site…

“The new owners are Munto Finance, a "special acquisition vehicle" that bought the club on 14 July, and this in turn is financed by the Qadbak Investment Fund, which is administered in Switzerland and funded mainly from Qatar.

“Former board members have been sworn to silence and the club's coaching team have been told not to discuss the matter, with even the usually open and affable Tord Grip not answering my calls.
Willett is vice president of Al Thani Investment, which has led to speculation that Abdullah bin Saeed al Thani - who heads the group and is the first cousin of a former president of the United Arab Emirates - was County's main backer. But he moved to quash these rumours on Wednesday.
However, I understand that members of the Qatari royal family, who also have the name Al Thani, are part of the consortium.

“The new owners were attracted to County mainly because of its status as the oldest league club in the world. "Notts County is one of the few uniques in the world," Trembling said last week.
"There is a lot of romance attached to that and it is something we want to build on."
They were also impressed by the 20,000 all-seater Meadow Lane stadium and the fact that 800,000 people live within a 25-mile radius of the ground.

like all football clubs - a terrible financial investment but if you are looking to throw your money away in the beautiful game then County aren't as bad an option as they are being made out to be. as the article alludes there are an awful lot of 'old' County fans who will be heading back to Meadow Lane this season and with a Hooters just down the road overall it looks a great investment!!! ;)

A 20,000 seater stadium , even at full capacity is no big deal for generating revenue..

The new owners need their heads examined..

Did anyone from here had an experience of having a traffic violation which actually you did not commit?....because I am very much confused how it happened to me?....the story goes like this, I am wondering why I have a traffic violation ( loading a vehicle that causes a danger to person & properties in Al Wakrah Area at about 10:00 in the evening on 22nd of july) wherein as far as i remember I have not been on that area on that specific time & date. Can anyone of you guys give me an instruction on how can i contest this problem to the authorities. where should i go and who should i approach to clear out these things?. I would be very much appreciative for your reply. thanks!
