yes they care about soccer or shall I say Football. but there is hardly anyone to watch the Qatari league or cup games most of the times..Like the picture Lincoln pirate posted a few weeks back!
damn.. baldrick and lincoln you're right, unfortunately :-( the only thing this country care about is soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer soccer ... funck
Keidoupe, I have a lot of passion for F 1. Actually it is my religion. But in Qatar, F 1 will be killed. I visited every Moto GP in Losail, and I almost always asked myself where the spectators were. No shouting, no applause, no fun, no atmosphere. Asking some Qatari friends why they didn't go there: "Too hot." Got it?
Been to many F1 races, but still prefer to watch on TV. You get to see the whole race, not just the couple of hundred meters you see at the tracks, action replays, pit lane action, interviews, etc. Plus you can drink a beer at home while you watch, order in pizza without being ripped off by the captive catering, and go to the toilet without queuing, wading through wee and holding your nose and/or gagging.
If/When Losail manage to host the Moto GP with more than just the grandstand to watch from, then I might consider it.
Qatar's winter months are brimming with unmissable experiences, from the AFC Asian Cup 2023 to the World Aquatics Championships Doha 2024 and a variety of outdoor adventures and cultural delights.

so... you have no F1 passion guys, you're goin to watch a RACE, not a soccer match -_-.
It will be just like the empty soccer fields, no atmosphere, no fans, no fun. Wasted money. Bought prestige.
let them take care of roads in doha first.............. then think about F1
just wondering what if they make too many roundabouts on F1 circuit
Went to see a race at Bahrain..
Crap circuit .. Just tarmac and sand..
No atmosphere and too hot :O(
No No they will put speed cameras on F1 tracks limiting the max speed to 80. No fun!
wow good idea
Why do you want Qatar Govt. to waste further money?
They will bid with a design of a state of the art race track, then when they get awarded the Doha circuit, will apply to have it raced on sand.
In winter.
And with camels, not cars.
Because they change everything they win.
OK consider it done.
