Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer launched the 2012 ATP World Tour season at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open at sunset Sunday in Doha's spectacular Katara amphitheatre.

From the ATP:

Many of the world's best tennis players open their season campaigns at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, one of two ATP World Tour events held in the Middle East.

The tournament is being held between 2 and 7 January 2012 with total prize money of over $1 million dollars.

Murray has for the past 2 years gone straight to Australia in preparation for the Open as opposed to preping in Doha.
