Maia seeks to dethrone Silva in Abu Dhabi
Let's talk about the current UFC Middleweight #1 Contender, Demian Maia. He is considered the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and rightfully so. This 5x world Jiu-Jitsu champion, is carving his legacy in the world of martial arts. He holds a professional MMA record of 11-1 (6 fights in the UFC). He won his first 5 UFC fights all by choke, and is the first UFC fighter to earn four UFC Submission of the Night honors. Coming off a big win over Dan Miller at UFC 109 he now gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he steps in the octagon to face Anderson "The Spider" Silva for the middleweight title on April 10th in Abu Dhabi.
His opponent, Anderson Silva, is arguably the best fighter to ever wear a pair of 4oz gloves. With a professional record of 25-4 and boasting 15 knockouts, I can see why. However, of the 4 blemishes on Silva's record, two of those losses came by way of submission (Demian Maia's bread and butter). Demian Maia is coming into this fight as the heavy underdog. I for one expect him to shock the MMA World in April.
nice one abu...i know i will see u in the octagon if that will happen....ill act as the medic for ur opponent hehehe.
i hope there will be UFC in qatar also not just the catsup.
