Horse Racing this Week

Wednesday and Thursday (24 & 25th FEB) will be Qatar International Horse Races
at Racing Club -Rayyan. Evening 4pm to 7 pm. Free Entrance.
Apart from the racing action, spectators have an opportunity to win fabulous prizes on offer.

The carnival of big racing events of the weekend, commences with the running of the Gulf Cup, a race for GCC bred Pure Arabian horses. This will be followed by Qatar International Cup for Thoroughbreds and the Qatar International Trophy for Pure Arabian horses, which offers QR one million in prize money each.
Apart from the QR one million purse for the two events, the Gulf Cup has a stake of QR 500,000 on offer.

On the same day there is also a Fegentri race which will see some of the world’s top lady jockeys fighting it out for top honours.
>The Fegentri race is a Thoroughbred Plate contest for QR 100,000 purse. It will be run over a distance of 2,000 metres.
>As many as 15 runners are in the field and it will be an
interesting battle between the horses as well as the lady jockeys who have a chance once again to shine on Doha turf.
Lady jockeys have enjoyed their previous trips to Doha and they are all looking forward to Wednesday’s race.
