Cycling in Doha
By SemajNewob •
I am moving to Doha and wish to continue tandem cycling with my child. The Corniche and Aspire walks ways are not suitable as we aim for distances of 20km and up, with speeds of 25km/h - not suitable for walkways with pedestrians. Any help of where a person can cycle reasonably (the roads are suicide on bicycle).
Hi Bob,
It's currently 4.45am (due to the heat) on the Friday, on the Corniche by the toilets by the Sheraton.
And I believe it's 5.00am on the Saturday at the Golf Club.

Hello Mheash,
Can you tell me what the group's starting point is? Also, do you have any contact information?
Thanks
Bob
I had my bike loaded in the car before I flew over but took it out as well as most of my gear due to medical issues. I need to find a bike I can rent for a couple days just to check out my shoulder. I've been riding a trainer here for over a week, but its a lot different when your on the road.
Any ideas where I could rent a bike (roadie) for a couple days to see if I can ride? I was putting some miles on in AZ, and ran into some issues witch may or may not have changed.
Kind regards.
Lusail Track, there's a nice 11km loop with very little traffic.
You'll find a lot of cyclists up there in the evenings.
There's a cycling group that rides on friday morning to Al Khor and return to Doha. They start early morning these days - around 5 am. You could get a better idea if you contact them
I've been considering taking up cycling for a while now.. For 25km.... I'd say cycle to Mesaieed from Wakrah and back... straight stretch of road, but you don't have any intersections so it would be smooth sailing... just go straight, straigh, straight... If the wind doesn't get you, the sand most definitely will...
