Thats only bla bla bla... benefit like development in infrastucture.. the world will know qatari tradition and culture...and may be bcoz of world cup there will be more and more job oppurtuinities for people like us... and it will bring expats and qatari's more closer to each other and giving time to understand each other...

You really think Qatar will do it better than Australia? How much were you paid to say this? lol

'People of Qatar' or foreign experts?? Did they really 'work hard', or did they just pay?

By djmike• 1 Dec 2010 12:33

Inshallah Qatar will get it,,,

People of Qatar worked so hard for it, planned it very well, did almost the impossible to make this event possible...

I really wish the best for Qatar, as i know no one will do it better than Qatar...

Its few days to the announcement.

I'll love a England world cup in 2018, will definitely be fun as football will be home again.

for 2022, your guess is as good as mine.

It will create more jobs, but that means more exploitation of Asian labourers. It will require vast improvement of infrastructure, but that will be at an unnatural rate and at the expense of making things a lot worse over the next 12 years while they try to get ready. It will bring more contact with the outside world, but at the risk of creating more tension and fear among Qataris that they are being invaded and losing their culture. This will lead to more tension between Nationals and Expats, and greater intolerance most likely resulting in wider clashes between the conservative Muslim society and the libreal infidels.

Either way, what will be will be. But I just think many of the ex-pats (especially Asian and Arab) are overstating the benefits.

Well if Fifa classified Qatar as high risk.... how do they classify Korea? Surely it can't go to a country that may go to war. Also it will have enough to deal with if the North Korean regime crumbles and the door opens.....

Yes you are right, Qatar + UAE would have been a big deal with a final in Dubai.

Qatar is a small country, unknown to most people.

I also want to know why Qatar didn't bid for the world cup together with UAE same as Spain/Portugal and Belgium/Netherlands....It could have been more advantageous.

England 2018

Qatar 2022.

I have my finger crossed for Qatar's bid and i hope they(WE) get it. It will benefit each and everyone who is living and working here...if there was no benefit from it then why all these countries are running for the bid....

South Korea won't get it either - no chance. They can't make any short- or long term commitments due to the problems with North Korea. It will have to be a politically stable country with all conditions ticked. England and Australia have the best chances IMO.

It's not going to be Qatar. Ever. If gambling wasn't illegal here I would bet a year's salary on it.

2018- England

2022- South Korea

-England: because they didn't held the world cup since 1966

- South Korea: because it has to be a non-european country, with good facilities.

- Qatar ; although I wish it, but due to climate issues it will not attract any supporters. Not everybody will go to the stadium everyday, so what will they do during the other days ? Watching TV in Hotel rooms ?
