bungee jumper dies after falling 7 floors
It happened near DELHI, capital of INDIA
=====
Greater Noida It started off on an entirely wrong note. The inauguration function of a mall in Noida was struck by twin tragedies on Saturday as a 25-year-old bungee- jumping trainer fell to death while performing a stunt.
Besides, film actress Sayali Bhagat suffered fractures in a car-racing event within hours of the opening of the mall - ironically named The Great Adventure Mall.
Union minister Subodh Kant Sahay was invited to inaugurate the mall.
The bungee-jumping trainer, Shailendra Kumar, met a gruesome death when the rope supporting him as he was performing a stunt, snapped. This brought Kumar hurtling down from the seventh floor of the mall building, the police said.
Horrified onlookers, who had gathered to watch the stunt, saw Kumar fall to his death from that height. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead’.
In the other tragedy at the same mall around the same time, 28-year-old film actress Sayali Bhagat suffered fractures during a car racing event. Bhagat was participating in a jeep racing event that was being held at the mall.
She was driving a jeep which suddenly overturned and she suffered a hairline fracture on her hand.
Bhagat was administered first aid by the organisers of the adventure sport and later taken to hospital.
“We are investigating how the incidents took place - whether safety measures had been taken or not for these events,” said a police officer.
"She was driving a jeep which suddenly overturned." All by itself. No help from the driver, of course.
Mandi
The death of the stuntman is a tragedy. May he rest in peace. The driving accident is not .
