Hi there...

Another thing. I got friends who complained about this law. Suppose to be owners are allowed to increase rents 10% every contract renewals...

Well this is a true story. Owner doubled the rent from 2500QR to 5000QR even after the law has been inplemented. Threat was, owner can tell tenants that he need the house for his personal use.. the judge can allow owner to have his house back. Wait for few months its again rented to new tenants with higher rent. Well?

My cousin in Dubai told me a common man can get a 1BHK villa for just 1000 Dirhams in around Dubai..may be in Sharjah/Umm-alquain/Ajman or Abu Dhabi etc for anyone can stay and travel everyday to work in Dubai...its not that far...but see here in Doha, for QR1000, you might be getting only a bed-space by sharing with 3-5 member in a clock-room or crazy flat! its really tough time here 'coz of the greedy owners or the inter-mediate who stands between the deal! And even we expacts can't even try to move a bit far from Doha like Ras-Al-Khaima or Ajman or Sharjah or Abu Dhabi etc.while living in Dubai! Its really mind-numbing and the worst in Middle East! Some of my friends who relocated from Dubai to Doha with nice offers are just shouting at me asking what the hell is special here or what basic facilities or karizma is here to charge like this! I really don't have any answers..'coz I also recently moved to Qatar and I too struggled like anything in the begining to get a better accommodation and I'm just making me comfort with wot ever I got which is the only one affordable for me currently! Allas....I don't know where it gonna end????

may be..most of us should leave Qatar for good..that's for sure if things go like things!!! let's hope for the best...!

Shaff!!

I don't think so,the price won't come down, more and more people are comming to this country, owners are aborting contracts with the government to rent their properties for higher prices, others are knocking down thier villas to build towers!

I don't think so, the problem is not in the demand is higher than the available. There are a lot of empty places and house, but the owners are so greedy and prefer to keep it empty than decreasing the price a little .. get the benefit of the rent and let other people live. The problem that we have is these people do not fear or know god. That is why they are making the miserable life of the people more miserable. What kind of life and privacy do you have when You and your family [Man,Wife,Daughter] lives with your sister in the same room, but got a partition in that room also?

The equation is:

Expensive Living Costs+High Rents+Same Salary=You Are in Big Trouble.

I agree there are lot of empty places but if u ask about it. u found its already fully booked to some compnies, there was some constrains to bring new emplyee during last year (due to Asian games) now most of company start bring the required staff. and the first thing they do rent full buiding (even before finishing).

After sometime when all underconstructing building will finished. i'm sure the offered places will be more and prices declining.

I was searching for a place in beginning of MArch, and y'all know how many contacts to agents one makes. Some of the agents were talking about declining rents during the next years and they expect to see first impacts at the end of the year.

In my opinion there could be a significant drop in prices. I agree with ooo, there are so many places empty and left empty to adjust prices. once this won't work anymore, landlords might realize in panic that they have to rent their estates in order to get at least some money!

Let's see how it develops, i give it a year until we see any developments!

stay tuned!

Osos I don't think the demand is still higher than the offer, there are so many places empty and you keep finding the same adds over and over again. I'm under the impression they are somehow manipulating the market, at least for the time being.
