Am I RIGHT or WRONG ?

Some countries are paying billions of dollars to host a world cup event wich will come after 12 years. a world cup event only comes every 4 years, and last for a month.

why dont these countries (bidding nations) just wake up and switch to hosting another type of event wich also attracts hundred-thousands people from around the world, that is Formula 1.

Formula 1 comes every year, and lasts for 3 days. This is more of a winning than world cup.

;-)

Besides, hosting WC is all about making a statement to the West and F1 just wouldn't do it.

But I agree with LP: quality universal education would be a better expenditure in my view.

There is a race everywhere with real threat of death, it doesn't get any better than that. Try it sometimes and don't get upset if nobody agreed with you, it's all cool.

SONIYA you didnt say ANYTHING RIGHT.. the beauty of the soccer stadiums is just from the outside , while the field is just a field, but an F1 circiut is a TRACK, it requires more smart-asses, and if you think F1 is not a mega game, lol what should i say ? F1 is the game of consistency, passion, business, power, speed, endurance. just count people worldwide and i DARE U, if u can find any soccer fan who matches the passion of a F1 fan, come kick me

Any WORLD CUP events, be it soccer or cricket requires a long term planning procees in advance of the actual period of the start of the game...It's impossible to compare these events with F1..Many things need to get analysed well ahead while hosting mega games..Like set up of a stadium, improvement of infrastructure if at all it's in bad shape, hotels and accomodation arrangement, volunteers etc etc...

I don't think F1 has anything to do with such schedules and preparations..

And what to do with those who like SOCCER and CRICKET or other games that comes once in a 4yr more than the F1?? :)

Rich countries have the option to host any high status events..its just their preference why world cup is being chosen. Its like deciding which meal you want to eat. You eat according to your budget and your taste buds.

They could use the money to build and maintain a high class university, too. (And no tuition fees).

Why not Cricket?

No need to spend millions in advertising the event...
