What is the most cost effective way to see the Serengeti during the migration?

I am from African and was born and raised in a game reserve area so I am not looking for 'touristy' things and places. I want to see the migration but am happy to 'rough it' but just won't dig my own long-drop (loo) :)

I am happy to tent / camp but want to spend most of the money on watching the animals, not on luxury accommodation.

I plan to go around November this year.

Well , If you wana see the migration november is not the time. It happens during August.

Either Masai mara or Sarengeti.. better to route and land in Nairobi, Kenya. If you take the Dar es salam , Tanzania airport its along way towards the Kenya border again to reach sarengetti.
