Your profession is not falling under the category for obtaining on arrival visa in Dubai. The issue of convincing the Officer of Dubai Airport is coming after you reach Dubai Airport. It will be better to check with the Airlines first if they will allow to board you without a visa. It is not so easy in Dubai Airport now a days to get on arrival visa if you do not have a valid profession in your ID.

well,it depends if you can show some attitude and communication skills to the Immigration officer in Dubai and be able to convince him that you are just enterting dubai for specific purpose then you might get a visa on arrival.
