As salam alai kum Brother,

Firstly Mabrook for ur trip to UMRA, as far as travel by car inshallah u will not have any problem if the car is in ur name rather than a friend's car bcoz i went by my car & was absolutely fine - Alhamdu-lillah, in Qatar border they check the car's isthimara to be in ur name, u check with traffic dept. if u want to take friends car & make sure for the doc's u need & then start. In Salwa border (KSA) u have to make Saudi Insurance at NCCI just after the Customs & that's it.

Journey Tips -

I suggest for starting ur journey after Asr prayer & by 11:30 or 12:30 u should reach Riyadh halt there by night & the next day after Asr start again to Makkah, this is bcoz ur car tyres will be safe & not become hot or risk of burst as its very hot in the day, the engine also will be cool after 3:00 pm take breaks while driving continously (stop for refresh, tea/coffee & drive again.

Have a safe & pleasant journey & pray for me at Masjid e Haram.

Ur well wisher - TAJAMMUL AHMED ([email protected])

Dear,

1- Get vis for Umra

2- Get letter from ur freind allowing you to travel by his car (from traffic dep.)

3- check for ur car oil, tyers, filters...etc

4- Befor leaving Doha, make lining for the car to avoid scratches by sand on highway (u may use liquid soap)

5- As this is ur first time, the best time to leave doha befor 12:00 Noon time, if u start from Doha at 12:00, u will be on boards at 1:00 pm, u will spend around one hour finishing papers in qatari side and saudi side, then u will start the trip inside saudi at 2:00 pm to reach Hafouf around 3:30 pm,take rest there, then to Riyadh. take care, the road from boards to Hafouf -in some parts under construction and the road will be 2-way, so you need to be carefull and that is wahy I suggested u to take this part during day time.

6- there are a lot of rest point on the road, avoide driving when u r tiered, take a rest then go on.

7- try to be relax all time to enjoy ur trip, it is great chance to power yourself, so no tension.

if u want to ask for anything more, please let me know

If the car is not yours you'd better get a letter from your friend authorizing you to take it. Attach a copy of his RP and car registration, both signed.

If the car has been to KSA before it should be no problem.

Make sure you are insured as there are many checks along the way, especially during Umra and Hajj times. The insurance desk (NCCI) is just afeter the customs check in KSA side.
