Glimpses of Qatar’s beauty framed in ‘enVision’
The beautiful flora and fauna of Qatar has been captured through the lens of a group of Indian photographers.
The frames are displayed at an exhibition organised by Doha Koottam (DK), a group of like minded Indian photographers, in association with Qatar Bird Club (QBC), at Hyatt Plaza.
The Vice-Chairman of Qatar Foundation and Chairman of Friends of Environment, Dr Saif Ali al Hajiri, opened the threeday photo exhibition, named ‘enVision’, on Friday.
Dr El Sadiq Bashir, director of the QBC, was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The exhibition has been organised to mark the World Environment Day.
Altogether 64 photographs displayed at the exhibition take you on a journey through the desert and sea of Qatar with birds and greenery of farm lands keeping one’s eyes glued to the frames.
Dr al Hajiri told Qatar Tribune that the exhibition of this kind would have to be promoted to let the growing generation know the importance of environment they lived in.
While few of the photographers focussed on the beauty of desert, some captured the movement of birds in their camera.
The photographs by Alan Ewens, Shahin Olakara and George Pecson were closer to portraits than the photographs while depicting the wild beauty of desert.
The photograph titled ‘Reflection’ by Manoj Manazhiyil and ‘Birds of the Same Feather’ by Salim Abdulla explored the beauty of water lands in desert.
Syed Omar’s ‘Flamingos’ and his other beautiful work ‘Rocking’ highlight the geographical diversity of desert.
The photographs of desert birds shot by Dileep Anthikad not only shed lights on migrating birds but also rendered valuable information about their frequent visit to the desert.
The minute details of birds in these images not only revealed the amount of concentration the photographer needed to shoot but also confirmed his commitment to the art of photography and the environment.
