Hi
I have booked airline ticket with Lufthansa. Our flight will take place at night(seven hours)and I will be traveling along with my baby girl (infant).I asked the airlines to book seat for mom and baby and they said ok.But then I asked them about bassinet and they told me it is not allowed because my baby will be too big for it.Are they right? So what if there is no bassinet for infant or little older baby?should baby stay/sleep on the lap during the whole flight?

I have a suggestion:

why don't you book a seat for your baby (as a child) and attach the car-seat to the aircraft seat and put the baby in it?

I do this for my son since he was 2 months old and he sleeps well because he's used to the car-seat.

However, I would sugget you to hold your baby during take off and landing.

Don't forget to buy some NEW toys (she's not used to) to entretain her during the flight.

Good luck and have a safe trip!

The bassinets hook onto the "wall" that separates the business class and economy class - right in front of the bulkhead seats. Because they're hook-on gadgets, they have a weight limit of ~20-25lbs (~9-11 kilos). If your baby weighs more than that OR is longer/taller than their "magic number" then they will not allow her to use the bassinet - in theory, anyway.

Generally speaking, flying with kids is not fun. . .and, yes, you end up holding them most of the time. If you sleep at all it will be a miracle.

Sorry for the bad news :o(
