Long weekend in Dubai for shopping and water park fun
We are a family of 4 and have just moved to Doha. We would like to go to Dubai in Feb/March next year for some shopping and fun in the water park:
We would appreciate any feedback on:
1.Which water park to go to
2.Which hotel to stay in and what rates to expect
3.Are taxis reliable or we need to rent a car?
Any other advice are also welcome. Thanks in advance...
I have not been to wild wadi but to Umm al Quaim water park (this is city next to Sharjah) around 30 - 45 minutes drive from Dubai but you must visit this water park, we had huge fun, belive wild wadi is small in size compared to umm al quaim water park. Thanks,
Atlantis is the new water park in the PALM and the hotel near to tht is again Atlantis hotel which would off course cost quite more...check its rates before deciding for it
There is also the new water park on the Palm, can't remember the name. Both have adjoining hotels. Mall of Emirates not far from them both, so after a dip and slide in the water, you can go for a slide in the snow !!!
Well, a visit to a water park was our promise to kids so hotel should be close to it.
As for the hotel, 4 star would be good, we need to just sleep there and have a breakfast.
for water parks dont forget to visit Wild wadi.. taxi are very reliable and much more easy to find..
Regarding hotels rates it depends on what kind of hotel u want to check in to.
you can visit the wild wadi park which is beside the burj al arab and due to the big impact of global crisis in dubai, the hotel rate is now very low. u can search online hotel booking where 4 - 5 star hotel are offering less than 200 usd.
there are lots of promotion available in dxb...
if u have international drivers license i rather suggest take rent a car, its also cheap.
Taxis are much more reliable than Qatar :o)
For info, Dubai Transport number is 2080808
