My husband works for Qatar Petroleum and we have AXA insurance coverage. One of the requirement for the Schengen visa is Travel Insurance, I would like to know from anyone working for QP, if this insurance can be used for applying for the schengen visa?
On the contrary, I used Insurance that was provided by Company (QP subsidiary) and it was accepted. I applied twice (Jul 10 & Jan 11) using the same insurance scheme letter. In its letter it was mentioned something like:
- Insurance certificate, medical expenses/life and personal accident insurance(QP self insurance fund)
- Group medical scheme & Group life & personal accident scheme
- coverage: in and out hospitalization, .....,expatriation cost, repatriation, death, occ diseases, passive war/terorism
- scope: 24hrs worldwide
- sum insured: EUR125,000 any one ailment per year (medical) & 36 monthly salary or min. EUR40,000 (life & accident)
Nope....your AXA insurance will not cover the requirements for schengen visa automatically....you will have to apply for 'Travel insurance' for each of the travellers and covering the period of your travel. This can be done either from AXA itself or from QIC. But its not that expensive.....its like QR 100 per head for one months coverage!! you can check QIC website for more details
