Hand baggage weight in Qatar Airways
By hemalimody •
Friends,
i am going back to India on saturday. I have to carry my personal laptop with me. I heard from someone that while departure from doha to india, they are allowing 40KGs? is this true? also if i carry my laptop along with me in hand baggage, its weight is added or laptops are excluded from hand baggage weight?
Need your quick help as i dont have much time.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Hemali
Hand luggage is indeed 7kg, and you laptop goes for free.
Note: They only seem to weigh carry on when you look like you are struggling to carry it! On my last trip my carry on was my camera/laptop back-pack bag which weighed 15kg!
Hi,
Its normally 32+7kg, 32kg as luggage and 7kg as your hand luggage. I wish they allow this weight will coming back from India, as its from there I feel we all req. more.Any way take care.
All the Best.
Bye.
For anyone else that may need to know this information
I have just spoken to Qatar Airways in Manchester UK and they charge £22 per 1KG over allowence.
They also allow you to take 1 item as hand baggage plus a laptop.
Cheers
Qatar Airways Hand luggage
In Economy Class it is one piece of Hand luggage not exceeding 7 kg. For business/First Class it is 2 pieces not exeeding 15 kg
40 Kgs of luggage is allowed...
Baggage must not exceed 10 Kgs
Dear.
40kg for luggage and hand bag shouldn't exceed 7 kg otherwise it will creat problem. means you are allowed to take 47 kg with you. Right!:)
40 KG is lugg but dont do it with one bag 30+10 in two baggage then 7 kg hand bag . laptop is not calculated as a hand lugg so take it with u
Laptop is not considered hand lagguage and extra 7kg may be taken with the laptop.. These sort of things the Airline staff just cannot answer..40kg to india not sure about that..I know that the allowance to London is more than from London..
Why are you asking a bunch of total strangers?
Just call the airline - or look on their website - and you'll find out the answer without having to go through the "somebody told me" routine.
It's simple - dummy!
