within the last few weeks.   It was worse than ever.   They are redoing the elephant cage (no way you could call any of these enclosures "habitats")  so they had stuck him in a tiny temporary cage.  He was standing in piles and piles of urine and poop.  It had to had been days and days since they had cleaned his pen.   Simply inexcusable.    In one of the monkey cages they had obviously not practiced birth control with the monkeys and had tons of babies.  Cute except there were probably 100 monkeys in a tiny enclosure.  Inhumane.   It was very hard to look at the animals without feeling sorry for them all.   And I am NOT an animal lover.

The zoo should be getting a call from the WSPA or PETA! The poor animals are trapped and malnourished! It breaks my heart seeing them like that! I tried tslking to the people who are in charge but no one would listen! And when I petitioned that the animals should have more rights - no one cared :(

I love you too! Have a nice wet afternoon.

More rain is forecast for today.

My turn will come for the liquid fortifier in a couple of days when I'm off.

I wonder If someone was fed, sunflower seed or parakeet seed, instead of bananas and meat.

Could you imagine, what could happen to some of those local kids, If they were driving their cars in the zoo, while they decided to expose their bodies out of their vehicles windows while screaming and shouting at the lions?

Good thing this zoo is not a safari driving Zoo.

That would be a newspaper headline of stupidity.

The zoo is very cheap(5QR) and the animals are quite up close, although the tigers dont have much room to roam around. Its good but its pretty smelly....the kids will love it though as they give you lettuce and carrots to feed the animals.....and they also have rides for the kids if you still have the energy to take them.

Just look after the wall with animals....

I've been there with my husband and two kids last month and thought it was pretty good and clean. It was family day and there were only a few visitors. We had a fun day and my kids loved the animals. And 5QR for adults and 2QR for children isn't the end of the world. In my home country they charge you about 70QR for a visit. (But it's bigger there :-))

Kind regards and have fun at the Zoo!

Oei.

Good joke, Hashin :-)

I've said it once before but I'll say it again ;-)

A new monkey and tiger comes to the Doha zoo

But they feed the monkey with meat and the tiger with bananas

this goes on for a few days

and finally the concerned lion asks the tiger whats wrong...

and the tiger says,"I got a stupid monkey visa but that damn monkey got the tiger visa"

As you drive If you see the big giant supermarket trolly on Hyatt Plaza is on your right, then you are on the right direction. Just stay on the left lane and merge LAST LEFT LANE on the last light past Hyatt plaza.. You can't miss the walls of the Zoo with the murals.. If you go right then you are going to arayhan city...wrong way..

The Zoo starts with a big wall with many murals of Animals on the left side, If you are driving away from the city. The wall starts at the last light at the end of Hyatt plaza, on the light you make a left turn, then follow it all the way to the next round-about and turn around so you could hit the entrance door...

Dan take the villagio road keeping this on the right take left on the next signal and drive 10min on the left you will see the zoo so you go straight and take a U turn and you can come back.

On your right will be the zoo.
