I'm passing through Doha tomorrow (Friday) on the way to Holiday in North India with my girlfriend. Can anyone give a couple of suggestions what to do in Doha, we arrive from the UK at 7am and leave at 9pm. I know Friday is a quiet day but will we still find the souks open etc?? Also any suggestions for a good lunch would be appreciated. :D

Thanks

Tom

Not a good idea.. It will atleast an hour before you get of the Airport That time the morning all the flights with labourers arrive so it is very busy..

Plus you will need to pay QR100 on arrival for your visa's. On friday at time not much happening.. Better to book the brunch at one the Hotel. I would recommend Marriot, you might get access to the beach also plus closer to the Airport. Brunch fineshes around 3pm. Go City Centre or any other Shopping Centre for Shopping. then last few hours say around 5-6pm spean an hour in the old souqs.. Arrive back at the airport around 7p 2 hours before your flight.. Dont go Al Wakra.stay in Doha.. It will cost on the Taxi..plus it is a public beach full of bachelors on a friday..

u can get visa upon arrival? if so, then you can enter Doha then while you are on transit.

You can have city tour in the morning for 3-4hrs, have lunch and half day desert safari (4hrs) in the afternoon and drop off directly in the airport for your next trip.

how do you get a taxi, are there stands or do they need booking? do you have a rough cost too so I know how much money to draw out of the machine!

take a taxi not bus

souq is better at 9am not crowded and half of the shops are open.

city center opens around 2pm all the outlets in it.

so thats a perfect schedule now where is my fees.
