The Beauty of Souq Waqif (Video)
The Beauty of Souq Waqif from Alex Klim on Vimeo.
Alex Klim posted this wonderful video of Doha's Souq Waqif. He says
Shot at the famous Souq Waqif (located in the City of Doha, State of Qatar) while walking around and talking to the people in the Video. I used my 7D and a Sigma 30mm - 1.4 lens. All shots are handheld, no lightning or any other additional gear was used, as I didn't want to scare people and also catch the real Souq experience ;) Music by Bonobo - Black Sands.

I can't wait to come back. I miss the souq so much! Beautiful video. Excellent!
Was really nice video.
bravo Alex.
thanks again for all the good feedback, will do more for sure ;)
beautiful sharing jane..........
You should make more of them.... Kudos!!!
Thank you for sharing my Video here!
nice video :)
@Rybaxs: The story is about the Souq experience from a visitors point of view. Mainly to show some of the people working there and to present the "Flair" the Souq has to offer. All footage was shot within 2 hours while walking around. After all the positive feedback and over 5.000 views in the first week, I was thinking of doing a short docu about the Souq, including cultural & historical background and some interview partners. Feedback and input is welcome from all of you. All the best, Alex.
Where's the man in thobe?
Thanks JasJar. The video was taken while walking around, its very similar to what a visitor will experience on the Souq. Most of the guys working on the Souq are Non-Qataris, but will try to get more Qatari's next time ;)
so nice -i like it, what is the video story all about?

Very nice..............and the most beutiful thing about the video is the smile on the faces of those simple hearted workers.
thank you for sharing
creative video, but u should have made effort to show the original community, culture and tradition of qatar..because who watches the video thinks that it was taken somewhere in pakistan or india..
ahhhhh well
Dear kutch, the Souq is indeed very multicultural, that's what makes it so uniqe ;)
Is Souq located in India or Pakistan? I can't see any Qatari :D
Thank u Hisham!

I'm waiting for the 5dmkIII, if it will ever come...
Guess it was another one then ;) But they have a lot new Sony Stuff there, even the new small 3D camcorders.
An Alpha a77??? No way!! If you did I am going to buy it right now. It's not due out until next month.
... saw one of these at 51east, in new Lagoona Mall last weekend.. ;)
It has SteadyShot Inside ;)http://sonya77.com/
Or instead of a tripod, buy yourself one of these:-[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4591:]]
Thanks for your nice comment, really enjoyed it ;) Yeah, it is a bit shaky as it was shot all handheld and the DSLR Camera isn't really meant for handheld shooting without advanced equipment... ;) I could definitely do better with my tripod and slider... Greets ;)
Nice... well done. However I couldn't help noticing you employed advanced techniques such as focus shift, yet suffer a lot from camera shake. You are definitely talented, now go and buy a tripod ;)
Very nice! thanks for sharing!
Glad you like it ;-) Thansk a lot!
Thanks Uzumaki! The video was shot with my Canon 7D (DSLR) and a Sigma 30mm Lens (1.4). No additional gear was used and all shots are handheld. Greets Alex
nice video! What V-Cam did you use?
...appreciate that ;)
