Could anybody tell me if one will be denied a visa if one has been refused visa from a western country and now wants to apply to another western country for a visa?

The person in question has perfect travel history records, possesses long term visa to a certain country in western Europe(having been there on vacation several times),works in the energy sector in a supervisory role.

Thanks for all the sensible inputs.

This is for the pessimist,Just to let you know that i'm asking on a friend's behalf. I don't need a visa to go virtually anywhere! But i was wondering why you revel in negativity???And why the swearing??? The guy in question doesn't need a tourist visa,he is looking at studying at masters degree level in a western setting. So what's the heck?! If you don't know, excellent travel records do help when it comes to western countries visa.Keep ur advice,it's not needed!

Hi Shah2u, The person in question has all the requirements and has got visit visas at the same emabassy many times without any stress. But this fella wants to know if denial (for tourist visa)at another embassy could affect his chances at other western country's embassy.

The reason for the denial was that the documents presented couldn't convince the visa officer that he would be back to country of residence/origin despite having excellent travel history in eastern, middle eastern/ gulf and western countries - has never overstayed in any of the countries visited.

The person in question wants to study for a post graduate degree, hence needs a student visa. He's got more than enough cash to finance his studies but needs advice how to go about it.

Thanks once again for the sensible inputs.

it depends on whether you meet the visa requirements but also depends on the politics. A friend of mine was refused entry into Canada earlier this year. However once he got a visa from the US and with the same info, his second visa application to Canada was granted, hence my statement about politics...

my dear, "most" of the developed countries have a "fixed" criteria to issue visit / tourist visas. its a "system-generated" issuance of visa. all U gotta do is to "fulfill" their requirements. if U don't, no matter how many times U hv been there, ur visa will b refused!
