Remote Connection with Teamviewer
Imagine that you got a problem with one of your clients and it’s simple as installing software, installing some sort of a driver or even checking some settings of specific software. Creating new users on the domain controller to allow your users accessing the network and it’s resources.
You have to leave your office and travel for 80 Kilometers [Did I mention that your client is in Dukhan?], run through the traffic hassle and the long trip that will consume almost half of your day.
Do you really have to travel that far? Guess you don’t have to do it anymore with this simple program ‘Team Viewer’. It’s a free software, installation process are simple and I will guide you here step by step.
First of all to download the software you have to go to the official site, this is the URL:
http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx
There is a link that says: ‘Download Now It’s free!’, after you download it run the setup.
Choose Install and then click ‘Next’, Select ‘Personal’ and then click ‘Next’.
Check both checkboxes there and then click ‘Next’.
Select ‘Start automatically with Windows’ and type any password that you like.
Click ‘Finish’ and you are done with the installation.
Teamviewer would start and from the interface you can see that it’s divided into two panels ‘Wait for session’ and ‘Create session’.
Before I go with the details, you have to put in mind that teamviewer should be installed on both machines. The machine that you are trying to access remotely and for sure your machine.
Let’s have here this scenario to make it easy for all of us; you are sitting at your office and your client calls having trouble. Ask him/her to run teamviewer [provided that it’s already installed.] He/She would see in front of him/her the interface, now you should ask him/her about the ID that he/she got [normally it’s static for each machine and won’t change] which appears under the ‘Wait for session’.
When you get it, type it under ‘Create session’ on your machine and then click ‘Connect to partner’. When you do, a message would appear asking for a password.
You will provide the password that you choose during the installation and viola, you can see your client's desktop the same way you can see yours.
You can use it also at home, installing it on your desktop. That would help you if you need to get something from your machine as the software got also ‘File Transfer’ feature. Or you can check how is it going with your downloads at home from the office :)
I hope that tutorial was clear, if you will need any help you can always ask.
Best Regards,
KE
