The first builder of the temple were said to be the Amazons. Plinus the writer reports that the temple was ransacked seven times in its history. During the Archaic period the temple burned by a madman named Herostratos in year 356 AD.

Nowadays the temple only left as a pillar ... you can overlook Ayasuluk Fort in the background.
