Single in the city
I arrived in Doha a couple of months earlier. Coming from a city like Mumbai, Doha seemed lacklusture. I could hardly see any people on the streets, and though the view from my window is nice it seemed there are only cars in this desert city. No social life to speak of! It did get traumatising at first. No friends, no family and no social life. Slowly and steadily i began immersing myself into work and it did help. I worked 6 days at a strech leaving myself with very little time to sit and feel bad. Things are looking a little brighter now with a dance and a photography group that i've recently joined. I have come to know that there are people from countries all over the world and different etnicities and we all want to come together and make Doha a more beautiful place to live in.
All said and done, i have accepted Doha as my new home with all my heart. Yes it does get lonely at times especially when you come back to an empty house. I only wish i had someone to share my happiness and sorrows with! Anyways, i hope i find things to get myself involved with so that loneliness doesnt sting the way it used to.
